How we handle the information you share with us.
Last updated: [TODO date].
Who we are
This site is operated by [TODO business / owner name], owner of Tragella, a self-catering holiday cottage in Padstow, Cornwall. If you have any questions about this notice or how we handle your data, email hello@tragella.co.uk.
What we collect
We only collect the personal data you give us directly:
- Enquiries and bookings — your name, email, phone number, dates of travel, guest numbers, and anything else you choose to tell us in your message.
- Newsletter — your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
- Contact — your name, email, and message.
We do not currently use analytics cookies or third-party tracking on this site. [TODO: confirm before launch — if you add Google Analytics, Meta Pixel etc., update this section.]
Why we use it
We use your information to:
- Reply to your enquiry, confirm a booking, and prepare for your stay.
- Send you the newsletter you signed up for (and nothing else).
- Meet our legal obligations — for example, tax records on completed bookings.
Our lawful bases are: contract (when you have booked), legitimate interests (when you have enquired), consent (newsletter), and legal obligation (record-keeping).
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with the people we need to in order to host your stay:
- Our email provider, who delivers messages we exchange with you.
- [TODO: once integrated] Our booking-management system (Lodgify / SuperControl) for managing reservations and payments.
- Our payment processor, when you make a booking.
- Tax and accounting professionals where legally required.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't become bookings: up to 12 months. Completed bookings and financial records: 7 years, in line with UK tax rules. Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, port it elsewhere, and object to our use of it. Email hello@tragella.co.uk and we'll respond within 30 days.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies that are strictly necessary to make it work (none currently set). [TODO: update if analytics or marketing cookies are added before launch.]
